Gamine Essence

The Style Essences allow us to know how we want to be perceived so that we can express our personality more authentically. For example, you may belong to the Natural type (Kibbe morphology) but prefer a Dramatic Essence, which will create a blend of the two. You can also combine several Essences.

Don't pay too much attention to the physical descriptions, as there may be several exceptions. Trust your instincts. If this is a new subject for you, I suggest starting with the different Kibbe types.

The Gamine Essence is Yang. People who possess it give an impression of creativity and playfulness. Their clothing styles reflect confidence and a rebellious state of mind. Although it is Yang like the Dramatic Essence, it has a more whimsical appearance as opposed to the mature intensity of the Dramatic Essence.

The Gamine Essence is ideal for physiques with small, narrow bodies. It's not necessarily about being short, but about looking compact rather than slender. The facial features tend to remain childlike even into adulthood. However, this appearance isn't necessarily cute rather, it has a hint of non-conformity.

To reflect this Essence, you can incorporate the following elements into your outfits.

Compact Shapes

Prefer small, compact shapes, such as mini dresses, skirts and short jackets. The same applies to accessories, which should be proportionate and delicate. Long, oversized garments are not ideal for this Essence.

Boyish Cuts

This Essence's signature style is characterised by boyish cuts. Leather jackets, dungarees, short blazers and unisex boots are all perfect.

Vintage Styles

Vintage styles, particularly those from the 60s, are perfect for this silhouette.

Creative Patterns

Patterns are essential, especially geometric and colourful ones. Just make sure they're not too big for your height.

Mix-Match

The creativity of this Essence is also expressed by mixing textures and combining unexpected colours.

Elaborate Details

Have fun with original jewellery, colourful buttons, creative collars and anything else that adds extra interest to your silhouette.

Hairstyles and Makeup

The hairstyles should be structured with graphic contours. Fringes should be relatively short, straight or asymmetrical. Short haircuts are ideal, but medium-length hair can also work. The makeup should be clean and geometric, highlighting the eyes and defining the lips.
