Soft Natural

Before getting into the details, it's worth noting that David Kibbe (the creator of the 13 Kibbe types) has repeatedly said that a clothing type doesn't belong to a specific type. Rather, it's how you integrate it into an outfit that makes it appropriate. The aim is not to tell you how you should dress, it's simply a guide, a starting point when you're feeling a little lost. From there, you can fine-tune your clothing style. It's also important to point out that Yang (sharp, angular, straight, long) is often described as "masculine" and Yin (rounded, soft, curved, short) as "feminine". This is totally incorrect and only serves to further skew our view of different morphologies. They're just two different femininities.

I've taken the liberty of modernising and softening some of the recommendations, so I suggest you refer to his book Metamorphosis, if you want more authentic information.

A slight deviation is always possible and shouldn't be a cause for concern as long as it doesn't upset the overall balance. If this is a new subject for you, I suggest you read the Glossary of Morphologies before starting.

The Soft Natural woman is a combination of Yin and Yang, but leaning more towards Yin (70% Natural + 30% Romantic).

The facial features are small or moderate and slightly blunt, such as the nose, cheekbones and jawline. The eyes are round and can be large. The lips are moderate to full. The skin on the cheeks tend to be slightly soft.

The Soft Natural woman is generally average height to tall (up to 5.7ft / 1m73). The vertical line is moderate (distance from shoulder line to knees).

The bone structure is slightly straight, with blunt edges. The shoulders are square or broad. The curves are gentle, and the difference between the hips and the bust can create a slightly defined waist. The arms and legs are proportionate to the waist and slightly fleshy. The hands and feet are generally small and large.

When overweight, the body tends to develop more curves and the waist becomes less defined.

The Soft Natural woman doesn't have a very angular body. She doesn't look very tall. She doesn't have a straight, narrow silhouette. She doesn't have very fine, small features.

Clothing Lines

The clothing lines should be fluid, relaxed and delicate. The silhouette should be slightly fitted without being rigid.

The tops should be delicate and flowing with rounded or draped necklines. The jumpers can be straight or figure-hugging.

The trousers should be soft, straight or form-fitting, with neat pleats. The ideal length is just below the ankle.

The skirts and dresses should be straight or slightly flared. They should be defined at the waist. The length can be mid-length or longer.

The jackets and coats should have a relaxed fit, emphasising the waist and a slightly defined shoulder line.

Textiles, Colours and Patterns

The fabrics should be soft and flowing, made of natural materials such as light linen, wool, velvet and silk.

In general, prefer combinations of different textures and colours in your outfits.

The patterns should be geometric and delicate, like rounded shapes and floral motifs.

Accessories

The accessories should be proportioned to your height, in natural shapes, with rounded edges.

The shoes should be fitted with round or open toes.

The bags should be of moderate size with little structure, made of soft materials.

The belts should be thin and supple, with rounded buckles.

The jewelry should be delicate, with rounded edges.

Hairstyles and Make-up

The hairstyles should be as natural as possible, in a structured mess and soft curls. Generally, your natural hair colour is the one that suits you best. Prefer mid-length to long hair.

The make-up should be light and delicate, highlighting the eyes or lips.
