Natural

Before getting into the details, it's worth noting that David Kibbe (the creator of the 13 Kibbe types) has repeatedly said that a clothing type doesn't belong to a specific type. Rather, it's how you integrate it into an outfit that makes it appropriate. The aim is not to tell you how you should dress, it's simply a guide, a starting point when you're feeling a little lost. From there, you can fine-tune your clothing style. It's also important to point out that Yang (sharp, angular, straight, long) is often described as "masculine" and Yin (rounded, soft, curved, short) as "feminine". This is totally incorrect and only serves to further skew our view of different morphologies. They're just two different femininities.

I've taken the liberty of modernising and softening some of the recommendations, so I suggest you refer to his book Metamorphosis, if you want more authentic information.

A slight deviation is always possible and shouldn't be a cause for concern as long as it doesn't upset the overall balance. If this is a new subject for you, I suggest you read the Glossary of Morphologies before starting.

The Natural woman is a combination of Yang and Yin in almost equal proportions, but leaning more towards Yang (60% Dramatic + 40% Romantic).

The facial features are blunt, small or moderately prominent, such as the nose, cheekbones and jaw. The eyes are moderate to small. The lips are straight, fleshy or slightly thin. The skin on the cheeks tend to be fairly tight and muscular.

The Natural woman is generally average height to tall (up to 5.8ft / 1m76). The vertical line is moderately long (distance from shoulder line to knees).

The bone structure is straight and angular blunt edges. The shoulders are broad. The bust and the hips are slightly elongated. The arms and legs are moderately long, with naturally defined musculature. The hands and feet are slightly long and square.

When overweight, the body tends to stay straight instead of developing shapes.

The Natural woman doesn't have an hourglass figure. She is not extremely short or extremely tall. She doesn't have very fine, angular features. She doesn't have a delicate musculature.

Clothing Lines

The clothing lines should recreate soft contours to bring a little fluidity to your silhouette. The clothes should be slightly loose, but not out of proportion so as not to widen the silhouette.

The tops should be fitted or flowing with soft necklines. The jumpers should be straight and long.

The trousers should be long, straight or slightly tailored with little detail.

The skirts and dresses should be straight and flowing. They can be mid-length or longer. They may or may not accentuate the waist.

The jackets and coats should be casual, loose-fitting and long. The shoulder line should be slightly defined and the lapels wide.

Textiles, Colours and Patterns

The fabrics can be of any density, but rough surfaces are preferable to smooth ones, such as linen, thick knits and raw denim.

In general, prefer combinations of different textures and colours in your outfits.

Choose geometric patterns with blunt edges and natural shapes.

Accessories

The accessories should be proportioned to your height, in natural shapes, with rounded edges.

The shoes should be lightly fitted without too much detail, with round or open toes.

The bags should be moderately sized and loosely structured, in soft materials.

The belts should be wide and supple, with rounded buckles.

The jewellery should be of moderate size with rounded edges.

Hairstyles and Make-up

The hairstyles should be as natural as possible in a structured mess. Generally, your natural hair colour is the one that suits you best. Prefer mid-length to long hair.

The make-up should be light and soft, highlighting the eyes or lips.
