Flamboyant Natural

Before getting into the details, it's worth noting that David Kibbe (the creator of the 13 Kibbe types) has repeatedly said that a clothing type doesn't belong to a specific type. Rather, it's how you integrate it into an outfit that makes it appropriate. The aim is not to tell you how you should dress, it's simply a guide, a starting point when you're feeling a little lost. From there, you can fine-tune your clothing style. It's also important to point out that Yang (sharp, angular, straight, long) is often described as "masculine" and Yin (rounded, soft, curved, short) as "feminine". This is totally incorrect and only serves to further skew our view of different morphologies. They're just two different femininities.

I've taken the liberty of modernising and softening some of the recommendations, so I suggest you refer to his book Metamorphosis, if you want more authentic information.

A slight deviation is always possible and shouldn't be a cause for concern as long as it doesn't upset the overall balance. If this is a new subject for you, I suggest you read the Glossary of Morphologies before starting.

The Flamboyant Natural woman is a combination of Yang and Yin, with a strong Yang bias (70% Dramatic + 30% Natural).

The facial features are long or prominent, such as the nose, cheekbones and jawline. The corners are blunt or square, like the chin. The eyes can be small or large. The lips are wide, full or thin. The skin on the cheeks tend to be fairly tight and muscular.

The Flamboyant Natural woman is generally average height (from 5.5ft / 1m67) to tall. The vertical line is long (distance from shoulder line to knees).

The body is straight and wide with blunt edges. The silhouette is built like the letter T, with vertical lines emphasising the naturally athletic look. The bust and the hips tend to be straight and wide. The arms and legs are long, with naturally defined musculature. The hands and feet are long and wide.

When overweight, the body tends to become squarer. The face generally becomes rounder.

The Flamboyant Natural woman doesn't look petite. She doesn't have an hourglass figure. She doesn't have an extremely narrow bone structure. She doesn't have very small, sharp features.

Clothing Lines

The clothing lines should recreate your long silhouette, with unstructured shapes and relaxed cuts, without necessarily accentuating the waist.

The tops should be flowing with wide or high necklines. The jumpers should be loose-fitting and long.

The trousers should be long, straight or loose with wide pleats.

The skirts and dresses should be straight and flowing. They can be mid-length or longer. All details, such as pockets and buttons, should be wide. The emphasis should not be on the waist, but rather on the hip line.

The jackets and coats should be long and loose-fitting. The shoulder lines should be accentuated and the lapels wide.

Textiles, Colours and Patterns

The fabrics can be of any density, but rough surfaces are preferable to smooth ones, such as linen, thick knits and raw denim.

In general, prefer combinations of different textures and colours in your outfits.

Choose geometric patterns with blunt edges and natural shapes.

Accessories

The accessories should be large and irregular.

The shoes should be geometric and fitted, simple and slightly angular.

The bags should be large and slightly unstructured.

The belts should be wide and rigid, with rounded buckles.

The jewellery should be large with rounded edges.

Hairstyles and Make-up

The hairstyles should be as natural as possible in a structured mess. Generally, your natural hair colour is the one that suits you best. Prefer mid-length to long hair.

The make-up should be light and defined, highlighting the eyes or lips.
